SOROS Fund Management has committed US$45m (S$74 million) to two funds that invest in private companies in the Philippines.
The company agreed to inject US$10 million into the Philippine Discovery Investment Company Ltd. (PDI), a Guernsey-registered
fund listed on the London Stock Exchange. PDI is managed by Next Century Partners (NCP).

NEW YORK - A commitment by a George Soros-affiliated fund to invest as much as $45 million in the Philippines shows how much money is starting to selectively trickle back to some Asian economies.
Next Century Partners Ltd. says it has received a green light from Soros Fund Management LLC, Mr. Soros's
principal advisory firm, to invest this sum of SFM funds in Philippine ventures that show promise, despite the
